I received a hat from the Korean Army that is only issued to Korean Soldiers as an award for training Kutusa in 2009 while I was assigned as Assistant NCOIC to the S-3. I am more proud of that then any award I received when I left Korea, oh....I'm sorry I didn't get one from my Unit. I once wore my hat to Six Flags and Koreans that had served came up to me to ask how I got it. Little things matter a lot.

As a Marine who served in the Army I never understood the fascination with patches and badges. I PCS’s from Ft Hood to FT Campbell after Afghanistan. As SSG I was standing with some NCO’s when some CSM walked up bitching and crying why none of us had any Taps, or school Badges which he had all of them! He was crying how can you lead troops in combat without schools. I was tapping my CAB which I fking earned and said the same way I always lead in trips Combat be it as a Marine or Army my combat experience all 7 tours!
