2011 buffalo chicken. So much spicy, something I've never experienced in any other MRE, ever. Plus it came with dreamsicle cookies and other good side items. Wish they'd bring it back

I had two. The old brown bag ham slice and the five fingers of death (basically hot dogs of sorts) you could keep them in your cargo pocket and eat em as you were walking if you had to. All these new ones you pretty much have to stop an heat em up to be able to eat them. Five fingers of death saved me many times in mile ten or so of a foot march when you needed a little more energy.

I'm pretty simple, but I've always liked the 09 - Beef Stew. It was always the easiest for me to get down, and it was well suited for heating up on most heat sources.
The best thing to come along was the MRE Heaters in the 90's - except of course, the propensity for bored Airmen to make MRE Bombs :)

Beef Stew has been an original since 1981, although I wasn't introduced to MREs until 1987. Original contents were:
Beef Stew TS 5 oz
Fruit FD
Cherry Nut Cake
Peanut Butter
Crackers
Cocoa
Spoon
Acc Pkt A
But by the time I was done with MREs in 2010 :
Beef Stew
Garlic mashed potatoes
Peanut butter
Jelly
Crackers
Pound cake
French vanilla cappuccino
Hot sauce
Accessory packet B
Spoon
Flameless ration heater
Hot beverage bag
I always found it to be a special treat to get the peanut butter and jelly with the crackers vs. the jalapeno cheese spread :)
