Love track and field and Bob Costas, but this must be the most unanticipated Olympics in the history of the sport. Can an Olympics fly under the radar? Is it safe for our athletes? There were even reports yesterday that some venues are still incomplete -- and the Games start this FRIDAY! Crazy!

The awarding of these Games to Rio was one of the clearest indicators of the corruptive power of under-the-table money in the last fifty years. For obvious reasons, some of which are playing out before our eyes right now, Rio should never have gotten the nod. Time will tell, but I think these Games may be remembered for all the wrong reasons.
