There was no big fanfare. No tickertape parade. Just my friend holding a "Welcome Home Sign" and my wife and I running to each other. To me, that was the best one.

When I came back from Desert Storm and it seemed like the whole town of Peoria, IL turned out to welcome us back.

That is all there is; to have a wife eagerly greet you is heartwarming to me. Best of forever with her.

2005 mid tour leave. I was with the Mississippi Gaurd 155th Inf, Katrina had just ravaged the coast. I didn't live there anymore so they told me I may not be able to go see my wife and kids, at the last minute they said pack up. I headed to Tampa where my wife and kids were. My stepdad was my wife's boss and told her she had to pick up a company exec at Tampa Intl only to see me rolling down the escalator. The look on her face was epic. That was pretty good.

Coming home from my last deployment to Iraq. I came home and got to hug my wife on the morning of my birthday. Happy Birthday to me.
