I noticed that windows 10 is very internet dependent and can cause issues for people who have limited internet, so when one exceeds their download limits, unless one disables the programs that are internet dependent.

I think if you don't like it, there's always . . . Linux Zorin - can look very much like Windows XP or Windows 7. Linux Mint Cinnamon is also very stable. I'm just saying

Linux on the desktop has been a pipe dream for almost two decades. it's still a pipe dream. When I can MS Office on it (natively, not playing games with WINE), then it might become relevant. Until then it's really not relevant on the desktop.

Are you trolling right now? Have you checked out the Linux forums on this site? We've talked about a lot of that - FLOSS alternatives. Libre Office, Open Office, WPS, Thunderbird, Evolution just to name a few. Nothing works on everything. There are OS X apps that don't work natively on Windows. But there are options - WINE as you've mentioned, VMs, and dual-booting. Trust me. You can put MS Office on Linux. But why? Every OS has pros and cons. My "irrelevant" laptops offer greater security, customization, and stability. I'm not okay with being boxed in with Winblows' forceful downgrades and unresolved issues or OS X single point of failure. Unless. . . you have any other reasons to tell me Linux isn't "relevant."

Told my wife the next computer will be an Apple product. They've had way too many years to get reliable and "unclunky". I believe SGT (Join to see) has been a Linux fan for a number of years. I will say 10 is better than 7/8 for what I use it for. However this morning I got a BSOD with a note to just look it up on the internet. So I did. The answer was essentially something bad happened. So if it persists, I've been down the road with "Nickel and Dimesoft" before. Using a Dell box. They were great once a long time ago.

CPT Jack Durish - You can use almost any PC designed Mouse, Keyboard, Monitor, or generally any other interface device with a Mac. I haven't used an Apple interface device with a Mac in years.

You'll love the MACS. They work great when you have all of their products. You can virtualize and/or bootcamp WIN10 as a secondary OS.

Windows 10 really does rely heavily on internet access, from updates to app syncing, and it can be a pain for anyone with limited bandwidth. I've found that tweaking settings to turn off background data and disabling some of the built-in apps can help keep data use in check.

If you’re ever considering an upgrade, Windows 11 might be a bit more optimized, especially with more control over which apps can access the internet. You could also buy Windows 11 Home third party from https://keyzon.com/products/microsoft-windows-11_fkbp3/ to save some money, and then customize the settings right from the start to better manage data usage.
