Ive read that you can get otc medications at sick call, but what exactly do they have? excedrin? tylenol? Midol?

From what I remember you couldn’t bring anything with you and any OTC medication you could take you had to have gotten from sick call. They locked them all up the only “medication” we could keep on our person was throat lozenges.

Oh yea. I remember that. Even then it was touchy if they found some on you

They have a full pharmacy. They will give you something only if you need it.

Sick call won't really be prescribing much, if you need medication you'll be sent to the treatment center which has a full hospital level pharmacy. You will only get what is prescribed to you by a doctor and as an initial entry Soldier if you need actual drugs (aside from OTC pain killers) you're more likely facing a separation packet than not. I had hernia surgery in Basic training, I was prescribed Percocet and sent home on convalescent leave for a month, came back and started basic all over again. If you need any medications likely you won't make it through the entire IET process.
