Looking for some insight and advice. I’m looking into re-enlisting into the Pennsylvania Army National Guard to achieve my retirement benefits. I’m currently a DOE Nuclear Security Police Officer with a TS clearance. I’m looking for a military job set that coincides with my current career path and I’m not sure which direction to go. MP? CBRN?
ANY insight and/or advice will be greatly appreciated.

If your trying to stay involved in Nuclear Security your best bet may be in the Air National Guard or Reserves Security Forces. https://www.goang.com/careers/law-enforcement-and-security/security-forces.html
The largest career field in the Air National Guard is Security Forces. These highly trained individuals are there to protect, defend, and fight, if necessary. A career as a Security Forces Specialist requires extensive training in law enforcement and combat tactics. Whether at your home unit or when overseas, you'll patrol, ensuring the safety and security of base weapons, property, and personnel. You'll conduct investigations into on-base...

I spoke with a PAANG recruiter with this in mind specifically. The only issue I’m seeing is the necessity to travel to Lackland AFB for the tech school.

SPC Mason Dible - Unless you already have a MOS, Rate or AFSC from a service branch you are more then likely going to be required to complete a MOS/Tech school. There is the possibility of waivers for OJT if you have prior experience. But that is up to the unit and branch you are transferring or enlisting in. Each branch has their own requirements that must be met. And the Marine Corps and Coast Guard would also require you to complete basic. It is your decision what ever direction you choose to go. Just answering your question with what information I know.

What's your career goal? That's probably the most important piece of information for anyone wanting to give you advice/mentorship.

Reading some of your replies to other folks in this thread makes it appear that you want the benefit of coming back in to eventually retire without any sacrifice on your part. Maybe I'm way off base but that's what it seems like.

Could you elaborate on the “sacrifice” part? I fully understand and am willing to take on necessary training and additional schools in order to achieve the best job skill to help both my civilian and military career path forward.

You told SFC Boyd "I’m not trying to deploy", you told MSgt Borders " The only issue I’m seeing is the necessity to travel to Lackland AFB for the tech school." These are sacrifices one makes to reach their career objectives, that's all I'm saying.

Those statements remain true. While I’d prefer to avoid travel outside my state, I’m prepared to if deemed necessary.

There's really not one in the Army. No security job is going to require a TS and as I understand, your current job doesn't require handling of CBRN materials.
You could be an MP and that's probably the closest to your current job. Another choice is CID, which is law enforcement and does require a TS, so you could put your clearance to work for you. But honestly you'll probably have more opportunities for schools and promotions in the PANG if you enlist as an 11B since they have an Infantry Division there.

I completely understand then angle, however I’m not trying to deploy with my 3rd child soon to arrive. I’m currently in contact with a retention NCO. Discussing potential reclass schools.

SPC Mason Dible if you think that your MOS determines whether or not you deploy then you've made a grave miscalculation in your plans. The ARNG deploys units, not MOS's. Whether you are an 11B, 42A, or 74D in a battalion, when the Bloody Bucket deploys they will send everyone in the unit.
In the ARNG you are aligned to the unit you join and the unit you join is determined by how far you're willing to travel. Being a supply specialist, cook, or personnel clerk won't place you outside the deployment cycle of your unit. The ARNG deploys around every four years like clockwork. Unless your contract has a stabilization deferment, which is usually offered to people transitioning from AD, you'll deploy whenever the PANG is due to deploy next. If you ask around its usually common knowledge when the next development is lined up

I’m tracking the Guards deployment rotation. I’m simply trying to keep the stress factor off my very pregnant wife right now by not pursuing a combat arms MOS.
