My re-enlistment window is about to open next month and I'm really considering to reclass. I'm currently a 91B SGT with almost 6 years TIS. My MOS is currently balanced for SGT's, so if I decided to reclass it would have to be into a STAR MOS. My GT score is 120 so I'm good on that. What would you guys recommend? It would be great to hear from someone who has recently reclassed into a STAR MOS as well. Thanks

I did. But they want you to have at least 60 credits through an accredited college. I don't have that many yet

15R will be an MOS that will continue to grow in the Active Army the next few years. Due to the restructuring of the Apaches role in the Active Army and pulling the national guards birds to active duty. Plenty of future career progression opportunities for that MOS

I would get with career counselor and inquiry about Military Intelligence, Signal, Supply, Human Resources and aviation. Those jobs are money makers once you ets or retire from the military. Don't waste your years with jobs that benefit just the Army try to pick a job that is in high demand in army but also a job that you choose as a MOS were the career growth is excellent outside the military.

You need to Think about what is best for you in your career goal and what MOS can fulfill needs of your goal. I have to tell you think about what you are good at ? Or what would you like to do, or that you think you would be good at . I tried 5 different MOS's over my time in service from Mechanic to Rigger to Drill SGT and Instructor . I have been retired for 26 years now . I was always in search of a challenge .

Cyber fields would seem interesting and cutting edge both in the military and out

What is your ST score (Tech score)? Because I know Soldiers with higher GT scores than myself but their other line scores are lower than mine. Anyway, I reclassed to 35F which was a Star MOS at the time. It's a great job because we deal with All Source Intel, so I was lucky that I chose this MOS to re-class into. Also, check out 29E which is Electronic Warfare Specialist, heard great things about that MOS. Too bad 51C isn't on the Star list because that is where it's at. My brother is a 51C and he says it's outstanding. As a 35F, I do receive some cool training, but not really any certifications. 29E and 51C will get you a bunch of certs which are a must anyway, but you will be very marketable when you get out. Good luck!!

Well I just went through 29E school. Itsa really hard class. Great opportunity in the field of work. They have a huge bonus but if you look at it just make sure you brush up on your college level algebra. We started with 48 and only 31 graduated.

I would recommend looking at the MOS's that are open and promotions look good and something that you are interested in doing. You might also look at what might help you in the civilian community too. That is a decision you have to make on your own.
