RP Members, Connections, and Friends I believe there are some really outrageous nicknames that have been handed out to some of you when you served in the Military. Lets' get them out there and don't be embarrased. Please share! This is one of those Posts that just keep giving over time. RP Members keep adding your nicknames.
Don't leave us hanging - share the story behind the nickname too!!
One of my many was: "Burly" and when I was a PFC/E-3 it was "Horse Collar!" Others I can't repeat from Basic Training - use your imagination!

“Joker” due to my constant practal jokes, the later “AT1”, which has stuck even in civilian life.

Hippie. Kept my hair longer than most guys and of course I took a fair amount of flak (not always undeserved) from some of my leadership.

Ugh. To have the name Woods my first BN S3 thought it be funny to call me Tiger. Then the S2 thought “nah. He’s more of a Tigger than a Tiger”. That stuck from my time as A/S3 to PL to finding a tigger placed on my CVC as a tank company XO. Thankfully the chemo’s attempt to change it to “chigger” after a Korean waiter accidentally put chigger instead of tigger on the birthday cake happened. And when you think it would go away when i left Korea...um nope. Ran into a former TC and he gladly shared my nickname with the company that I commanded. You just have to smile and enjoy it.

While deployed, Carlos Mencina just came out with a new performance on levels of “fat” people.
I was always the bigger guy in our platoon.
The month was October(ish) sonit being cold I wore my issued Fleece.
We where watching the new comedy performance and everyone look at me and
simultaneously called me “Fluffy”

Sonic. While I kept my hair within Regs, I would sometimes get it cut too short on the top and it would stick up. Someone said I looked like Sonic the hedgehog. Yup it stuck.

I've earned a couple. When I was in AFROTC my freshman year in college, we had a Doofer in the Day Room. You had to have a call sign to write in it. It took quite a while before I earned mine. It was "Top Secret." It was given to me because they thought I was the secret weapon at Friday PT (usually some game instead of running, push-ups, sit-ups, etc.). It was more appropriate than they every knew as DADT was in effect & I was gay.
The second was "Sniper" from my NCO Academy flight-mates. I'm an absolute introvert, so I would spend a good portion of the time just listening, as there were plenty of others in my flight who liked to talk. However, sometimes discussion would stall or none of the talkers knew the correct answer the instructor was looking for. It was then that I would say something to get us moving again. So, I guess my flight-mates decided that I was deadly accurate out of nowhere & hence the nickname. Being an avid hunter & outdoorsman, I quite enjoyed that one.
I've also been referred to as Ninja by several of my Airmen. I have a way of sneaking up on people without them every hearing me. It's nothing I try to do intentionally (I really don't like making people jump) but happens frequently.
