RP Members, Connections, and Friends I believe there are some really outrageous nicknames that have been handed out to some of you when you served in the Military. Lets' get them out there and don't be embarrased. Please share! This is one of those Posts that just keep giving over time. RP Members keep adding your nicknames.
Don't leave us hanging - share the story behind the nickname too!!
One of my many was: "Burly" and when I was a PFC/E-3 it was "Horse Collar!" Others I can't repeat from Basic Training - use your imagination!

In AIT it was “Cali” being from California.
And it fell off at my duty station used here and there by the buddy’s who I saw from AIT out and about. Eventually I picked up the nickname “McDonald’s”, this stemmed from needing some late night food every time we had a few choice beverages. That stuck for the length of my service. On of my buddy’s still used that. I have not adopted “big joe” at my job.

My nickname was "Abe" because my best buddy, Matthew Iatesta, thought that I was the most honest person he had ever met. Unfortunately Mat had a stroke at the age of 32 and after about six strokes passed away. Although it can't be proven, I thought it might be because we were exposed to agent orange in Vietnam. I've had my own issues that might have its source in that chemical but who can prove anything?

In basic I was on crutches which left me bent over a lot and the black glasses always slipped down my nose so I was looking like an old woman So naturally I got the nickname Ogemaw which I was told was Korean for Old woman or Grandma.

My Nickname while I was on the Coast Guard Loran A/C Station on Attu Island Alaska was Fish Stalker. That is a hold over name from when I hiked the John Muir Trail in California. In Attu, in 1969 - 1971 I stalked Salmon and Trout and occasionally salt water Lingcod for the Coast Guard team on Attu. On the John Muir trail 1962 - 1965 I stalked and caught trout for the 21 boy scouts that I was hiking with.
