RP Members, Connections, and Friends I believe there are some really outrageous nicknames that have been handed out to some of you when you served in the Military. Lets' get them out there and don't be embarrased. Please share! This is one of those Posts that just keep giving over time. RP Members keep adding your nicknames.

Don't leave us hanging - share the story behind the nickname too!!

One of my many was: "Burly" and when I was a PFC/E-3 it was "Horse Collar!" Others I can't repeat from Basic Training - use your imagination!

I had 2. In basic I was called the Contra ban kid because I always seemed to have unauthorized food with me, candy, crackers, etc. When I got to my first duty station in FRG Achaffenburg I got the nick name "Radar" as in O'Rielly from M*A*S*H. We carried 140,000 lines of parts stock and I had most of the warehouse memorized. I had the 14 digit stock numbers memorized also. I also had deals and trades going on to get what we needed to keep running and serve our units. From papers to parts..... and I couldn't get hired as a automotive parts person when I got out......

My nickname was the “Red Baron” obviously for my Last Name reference. Served aboard the USS Thomas A Edison SSBN610, where someone gave me that nickname.

I was a Explosive Safety NCO and I was very strict about my duties so everyone
called this nick name in fun.
