RP Members, Connections, and Friends I believe there are some really outrageous nicknames that have been handed out to some of you when you served in the Military. Lets' get them out there and don't be embarrased. Please share! This is one of those Posts that just keep giving over time. RP Members keep adding your nicknames.
Don't leave us hanging - share the story behind the nickname too!!
One of my many was: "Burly" and when I was a PFC/E-3 it was "Horse Collar!" Others I can't repeat from Basic Training - use your imagination!

I was often called "Rosewood" because of my physical resemblance to Billy Rosewood in the movie, "Beverly Hills Cop."

Buckethead. The ALSE boys found out I had been identified as a necessary participant in HGU-56 testing because I had the largest head.

Lieutenants asked me what my call sign was. Didn't have one but told them to pick one for me. They asked a few questions about my background. Told them I'd been associated with the Air Force for 45 years (this was back in 1987); dependent, airman, cadet, officer. Naturally, they came up with Lifer.

The most used in my 4 deployments was "Papa Osos" that translates to " papa bear". Other they used was Chago. Chago is like a derivate of my last name use in Puerto Rico.

Oneway
I walked into the Finance Office ready for another day of pay vouchers and summary sheets carrying a cup of coffee from the PX. One of my friends said I was a Oneway guy to only think about myself and not him (or anyone else), arriving with only one cup. The name stuck and I still use it to this day which is 50+ years after the fact.

As a E-2 people called me Cannonball, but after getting the m-16/203 I was called 40 mike mike for my uncanny ability to accurately put 40mm grenades wherever I wanted
