RP Members, Connections, and Friends I believe there are some really outrageous nicknames that have been handed out to some of you when you served in the Military. Lets' get them out there and don't be embarrased. Please share! This is one of those Posts that just keep giving over time. RP Members keep adding your nicknames.
Don't leave us hanging - share the story behind the nickname too!!
One of my many was: "Burly" and when I was a PFC/E-3 it was "Horse Collar!" Others I can't repeat from Basic Training - use your imagination!

A few people called me Kammbo. Everyone else I served with thought I was too serious for a nickname :)

My nickname was "Doc", by most of my shipmates, however one shipmate in particular called me "Quack"....Her nickname was "Sniper". I had other nicknames as well...but they are better left unsaid!

While I was in OCS, even though in excellent physical condition, I could just break into a profuse sweat standing in formation or doing any other physical activity so the TAC Officers and my fellow cadets started calling me "Candidate Lister Bag." Being a Mustang after 4 years enlisted, I was proud to have a specialized nickname that many of my fellow officers remember and continue to refer to me as even though the "lister bag" has become a dinosaur and may not be familiar to younger troops. Makes a great story over a few drinks and even in some formal events.

Sgt John Ayres
When I was stationed at Nakon Phanom RTAFB I was the NCOIC of the welding/sheet metal shop. I had 9 locals working for me and they called me Sgt. John. I was the lowest rank NCOIC in the 56th CIS in 1968-69. When I got transferred back to the states, another E-4 buck Sgt. took my place. He had less time-in-grade than me. I had a lot of responsibility for a 22 year old Airman.
