RP Members, Connections, and Friends I believe there are some really outrageous nicknames that have been handed out to some of you when you served in the Military. Lets' get them out there and don't be embarrased. Please share! This is one of those Posts that just keep giving over time. RP Members keep adding your nicknames.

Don't leave us hanging - share the story behind the nickname too!!

One of my many was: "Burly" and when I was a PFC/E-3 it was "Horse Collar!" Others I can't repeat from Basic Training - use your imagination!

Being that my last name is Howell, I was called Thurston Howell III. After Jim Backus on Gilligan's Island.

I was "Chicken Little" in the firehouse in Germany because I was in good with the company clerk. He would call me every time the CO was coming to run a surprise inspection of the firehouse, located apart from the company itself. I would then alert the men who could unload 21 huge German beer cases into a member's VW van in 2 minutes flat. Never got caught! This was during the Vietnam War.

I was given The nick name "Gabby" Because when i reported to a new unit I did not talk a lot until I got to know the guys better and then I talked their ears off. also I liked the name because of George "Gabby" Hayes The movie side kick to Roy Rogers, John Wayne and others in westerns.
