RP Members, Connections, and Friends I believe there are some really outrageous nicknames that have been handed out to some of you when you served in the Military. Lets' get them out there and don't be embarrased. Please share! This is one of those Posts that just keep giving over time. RP Members keep adding your nicknames.

Don't leave us hanging - share the story behind the nickname too!!

One of my many was: "Burly" and when I was a PFC/E-3 it was "Horse Collar!" Others I can't repeat from Basic Training - use your imagination!

Mine was "Greenbean"!! I am tall for a girl at 5'10" and when you pair that with the olive green we wore back then, you get greenbean!!

With a select group in my E3 and E4 years I was called "Fingers" because of my style of guitar playing. Of course, in the old days "Fingers" was a mob man. I just killed guitar licks.

I don’t think mine was related to that movie in any way. Just the rhyme of master (Sergeant) and blaster I guess.

Ironically enough when flying none, SAC didn't allow personal call signs, but was assigned Charlie for a while. When in munitions maintenance Swing Wing was my unofficial one.

COL Mikel J. Burroughs I was called Butch, because of the hair cut I had. I used brylcream to keep to keep the little piece up tight in the front.

One Senior Airman (formerly Junior NCO) thought McDLT would be funny. Guess who got the last laugh...

I've had several..."Pappy G", "JDG", "Chotch"; for a while on the boat, when we had three air officers on board (while the Air Boss was rotating out), they called me "Micro Boss"...but the one that I most appreciated was "Dizzy".

an added note; I was named for my 2d cousin and Dad’s 1st cousin who was lost when the troop transport he was on was sunk off of Greenlaand.
The pic is of my niece with my Cousin’s marker at Arlington Nat’l Cemetary a few years ago.

I feel honored to be named for my cousin.. if it helps those I worked for to not be thought of as a ‘bad’ person for a mis-name .. I can deal with that..
