RP Members, Connections, and Friends I believe there are some really outrageous nicknames that have been handed out to some of you when you served in the Military. Lets' get them out there and don't be embarrased. Please share! This is one of those Posts that just keep giving over time. RP Members keep adding your nicknames.

Don't leave us hanging - share the story behind the nickname too!!

One of my many was: "Burly" and when I was a PFC/E-3 it was "Horse Collar!" Others I can't repeat from Basic Training - use your imagination!

I was called "Chez"...short version of Sanchez. Nothing surprising there. Though being called Gunney Chez was pretty kewl ;)

I collected two nicknames in the service. "Rambo" during Basic Training for my actions during our Field Training Exercise, and Kissel while I was in Iraq. Kissel basically came about because my TC wanted to give me a nickname and after the 40 or 50 he came up with Kissel was decided by our 1SG to be the least offensive.

OMG! "Chet", from Weird Science, because I was balding and had that same stupid haircut. Other interpretations may be when they turned Chet into a big pile of Sh*7. Basically calling me a POS. Lol! Still 20 some years later they still call me Chet. I really don't think they know my real name. Lol! I was squared away so I know it's not the POS interpretation. At least that's what I tell myself.

COL Mikel J. Burroughs, Hmmmmm.....Mine was kind of derivative, but I got the name "Goose" because I was always "quacking" to my troop like a mother goose...... Some names are hard to get rid of too... LOL !!

My nickname was Skippy, guys I served with still call me Skippy. Hell my Battalion Commander called me Skippy. Still till this day I don't know who or why it was started, all I know is it started at a Demo range full of SAPPERS and stuck like glue.

"SO COOL" because that's how my last name is pronounced. It stuck with me, and that's what I was called later when I played semi-pro football.

Preacher. I was almost finished with my BA in ministerial education when I was called out of the IRR. So, everyone called me preacher.
