RP Members, Connections, and Friends I believe there are some really outrageous nicknames that have been handed out to some of you when you served in the Military. Lets' get them out there and don't be embarrased. Please share! This is one of those Posts that just keep giving over time. RP Members keep adding your nicknames.

Don't leave us hanging - share the story behind the nickname too!!

One of my many was: "Burly" and when I was a PFC/E-3 it was "Horse Collar!" Others I can't repeat from Basic Training - use your imagination!

After basic training, nobody ever called me a derogatory name... To my face.
I got my call sign in tech training, 'Dream Weaver'. When some of the guys tried to mock me about it, I reminded them that nightmares are dreams too; and they should be careful.
I retired in 1998, and I've kept that name ever since.
About 15 years ago some of my friends started calling me GreyBeard or Grey. I have no idea why.

Mine was Ramjet. Acquired that at my first assignment. For some reason I went from 0-90mph to get things done! My NCOs like that in me and rewarded me for it! Guess if you’re good, you’re good!

Thanks Dennis, was like 3 decades ago... LOL. Unfortunately, the past tense aspect didn’t make the journey on the posting when “liked”!

Mine was Panther because I was so quiet when walking up to someone. I usually had to tap them on the shoulder or call out to get thier attention. It was given to me in basic and stuck from then on.
