RP Members, Connections, and Friends I believe there are some really outrageous nicknames that have been handed out to some of you when you served in the Military. Lets' get them out there and don't be embarrased. Please share! This is one of those Posts that just keep giving over time. RP Members keep adding your nicknames.

Don't leave us hanging - share the story behind the nickname too!!

One of my many was: "Burly" and when I was a PFC/E-3 it was "Horse Collar!" Others I can't repeat from Basic Training - use your imagination!

During boot camp the guys couldn’t pronounce my last name so they opted to call me Dutch. That nickname stayed with me for years after leaving the Corp.

Deadline- as P5 Amphibious Tractor and ONTOS repairman and maintenance SGT. I was the one charged with decision is a vehicle fit for service. If not I would send said tractors to the deadline until repaired, usually by the crew, and fit to return to service. " Here comes old Deadline" was the call I often heard proceeding my arrival. Other not so politically correct and not fit for print here names were frequently used as well.
In boot camp in 1966 at P.I. PLT 198, my drill sergeant (SGT. Hampton, a great man) nicknamed me "Gary Cooper" as he said I spoke and acted like the movie star.
