Besides tithe issued equipment that are going to be brought downrange regardless of if you like it or not, what item(s) would you tell one of your first timers to make sure to bring to either make their life easier or perhaps just more bearable?

Multi tool, civilian weapons cleaning kit, baby wipes and suction-cup hooks.

Babywipes lots of the plastic wrapped ones, Woobie, quart and gallon sized zip lock bags, and last but not least concentrated permetherin ( for sand fleas, flys, and chiggers?

I'd agree with everyone, Baby wipes is a must. Crocks, head lamp, and a lawn chair. I always took a baseball glove also. We had a bunch of us that played ball.

Toilet paper, baby wipes, cigarettes. The first two are self explanatory. Even if you don't smoke, cigarettes are a great bargaining tool in most countries to get something you want or need.
