What piece of gear would you tell a first time deployer to make sure to have?

Besides tithe issued equipment that are going to be brought downrange regardless of if you like it or not, what item(s) would you tell one of your first timers to make sure to bring to either make their life easier or perhaps just more bearable?

Good boots, good socks, good insoles. You will spend every day in those boots, make them comfortable, and you life gets a little easier.

A good pocketknife and multitool. I also bought a pair of belleville boots, very comfortable right out of the box. Also if you can get one a coffee pot, you can cook in it

Bruh, wtf? We’ve been at war for close to 17 years! If a “first timer” deploys without something, the PX has it already.
