Besides tithe issued equipment that are going to be brought downrange regardless of if you like it or not, what item(s) would you tell one of your first timers to make sure to bring to either make their life easier or perhaps just more bearable?

Bunch of 550 cord, duct tape, baby wipes, multi tool, porn magazines, double edge throwing daggers, other knives, sharpening stones, cards and zip ties. You have these and you will be all set for anything.

Maybe my friends to help kick some ass. Or that oakmeal cookie in the MRE that keeps you bound up for a week

I took a camp shower with me to Iraq. Rolls up nicely and fits down the side of a duffle bag. I only used it twice, but it was worth the price and the carry.

Franks red hot, good homemade honey and some good coffee w/ something to make it if it’s not readily accessible (small coffee maker, electric kettle or camp stove and French press).

Rehydrated garlic eaten keeps bugs off of you, good for blood pressure, makes you harder to smell/covers the normal person smell

Disposable hand warmers, an external hard drive loaded with your favorite movies, a journal, Fox River socks (lifesaver), polymer translucent magazines for your M4/16 (saves weight), surefire helmet light (attaches to your ACH), multitool if they don’t issue one, extra deodorant, and baby wipes to name a few.
