But what is a complete tour? I finished to the end of the orders, to the main body flight they put me on, but most of our battalion doesn't qualify. Why is that?

Well, in the Air Force...get stationed at a hotel in another country for at least 3 months. Thought y'all would like that answer....no....ok...check the damned regs you force down your troops throats everyday.

Holy Cow! Read the darned regs (AR 600-8-22 and AR 614-30).

Don't guess or tell people information based on old/outdated information, or PNN (Private News Network). IF you don't know, refer to the regs.

This is another reason I am getting out-- people are too lazy to seek out answers, so they either guess or just make stuff up. This has lasting effects, as junior Soldiers take that bad info and spread it around. That is how we got "Clothing and Sales" (it's Clothing Sales) and "You can add to, but not take away from..." (there's no reg that says that)

yes, but it still doesn't say. because that table is saying 12-18 months. deployments aren't 12 months anymore.

SGT(P) (Join to see) - Did you read all the possible situations where the OSR can be awarded, like in

Rule1: To within 60 days of completion of the prescribed tour

Or Rule 2: Less than the normal prescribed overseas tour, curtailment is
for the convenience of the Government, and through no request
from or fault of the Soldier

Read all the possibilities in Table 3-2. Most situations will fall into one of those listed.

An expeditionary medal and OSR cant be given for the same period. Ex: if you get the GWOTE then you wont get an OSR

This is a little off the subject but not worth a new discussion. Does anyone know what's magic about the 1981 start date for eligibility?

Once you earn them, they are yours. They are listed on your 214, they are yours and they are on orders, they are yours. Even if no one else seems to care, they are yours!

Over 150 Missions into Iraq and Afghanistan. The Award doesn't give you any points towards promotion, so uuuuuuhhhhhh?
