If I make e5 while forward with an etp, upon returning to home duty station I only have 30days before I ets and don’t go to school do I get out as an e4? Or do I retain e5?

You ETS with the rank you have orders for and the rank your ETS orders state

exactly. If you have promotion orders awarding you E5, you ETS as an E5 regardless of completing BLC/PLDC/AWS or whatever the hell they are calling it these days.

my daughter got out as an E5 without going to school. But since you're getting out it doesn't really matter. If at some point in the future you decide to get back in they're probably going to bring you in as an E4 regardless. I got off active duty as an E6 and had an 8 year break in service and had to take a voluntary reduction to E4 to get back in the Guard.

SFC Steven Borders - yep. unless you were an Officer or a Senior NCO it doesn't really carry much weight. And most places don't even know what a Warrant Officer is so that doesn't impress them at all. LOL

Roger I just didn’t want him to waste getting promoted for nothing; if he going to take the promotion he might as well stay in LTC (Join to see) SFC Steven Borders
