If you are meaning the Commanding General of the 82nd Airborne, it's a two-star general which is a Major General. Here is a historical list for you: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_commanders_of_82nd_Airborne_Division_(United_States)

This is a list of commanders of the 82nd Airborne Division of the United States Army.[1] The 82nd Airborne Division is one of the oldest divisions in the U.S. Army, having been raised shortly after the American entry into World War I in April 1917 and seeing service in World War I and World War II and many subsequent conflicts.

Major General. In saying that, it is important to remember all general officer nominations must be approved by congress. During WWII, casualties among high ranking officers especially in the USAAF were very high. Occasionally the requirement for commanders is greater than the ability for the nation to promote the best men and women to the proper grade. Hopefully this will never happen again.
