You'll receive an RE3. Why are you worried about a reentry code if you're leaving the Army? If you sign a declination it means you no longer want to be on active duty

That must have changed over the years since I signed one in '03. I was given an RE-1.

MSG (Join to see) maybe. RE1 means fully qualified to reenlist, only people with an ERUP code of 10 will get that. Everyone with an ERUP of 9* anything will get an RE3 or sometimes an RE4. Even if it's just ETSing with an HQDA bar in place for not completing DLC

I signed a dec statement when I was a SSG and came down on Recruiting orders. Got out and made my way to the Reserves. Used their education benefits, got commissioned in the Reserves and eventually came back on to active duty for anesthesia school and finished my career. The only thing that signing that dec statement did to me was put me into a better career path and doing what I actually love to do.

My exact situation right now. SSG that came down on recruiting duty.
Always wanted to be a drill, never a recruiter.

SSG(P) (Join to see) definitely should have submitted that Drill packet before the Recruiting levy came down. This is a good example of "make your career choices before the Army makes the choices for you"

SSG(P) (Join to see) Understand completely. I wanted to be an AIT instructor. Had no desire to be an active duty recruiter.
