What's 14E AIT like for a prior service E6 (Blue-To-Green)?

I’m not for sure about 14E but when I was an Instructor the prior service got to have their weekends and were treated like regular NCO for most things. You’ll live in a MOS-T barracks if you are single or going there alone if you are married. Don’t mess with the Soldiers from basic and you will be fine. That is the quickest way to lose rank and get kicked out the Army.

Have you/your spouse been to school yet? I’m a SSgt in the Marine Corps and just finished my Army transition. I start AIT for 14E in June.

My husband started a couple weeks ago and since he's prior service they treat him like a reclass. He got full privileges after his BCT graduation.

Ashley Parsons thank you. Not sure what full privileges means when it comes to the Army. Is he housed separate from first time students? Hope you don’t mind the questions. Coming from Marine side means I don’t go to basic again and I’m just showing up to Fort Sill without having heard anything. Lol.

SSgt (Join to see) My husband is housed with the transition students. He was able to wear civilian clothes right away and go to the Defac when he wants. Also workout on his own vs. unit PT. He is also at Fort Sill until July.

Ashley Parsons thank you again. That honestly answers a lot for me. If they still let me leave (DoD travel ban) then maybe I’ll see your husband there. Thank you again.

Depends on the Cadre, but usually you go to PT in the morning, go to chow, head to the school house, then get on a pass til 2000. Again it depends on the Cadre and the 1SG. But they wont treat you like the Normal AIT soldiers, they may even have you help in disciplining the AIT soldiers.
