You've been to military balls. Like me, you've seen a wide variety of ball gowns. What is an appropriate ball gown? What is not? Can you give or show example?

Completely unacceptable. What was her spouse thinking? Even an E-1 would know that is not appropriate attire for a military function.

To me, that should of been nipped in the butt at the receiving line. My wife is not only a representation of me as a man but also as a Soldiers and the institution I stand for.

I think a tasteful gown is NOT the one captured in this photo and I agree with you comment that it should reflect good things back on the spouse.

I would imagine that a "tasteful" Military Ball gown would be a gown that you would wear in front of your mother. That was always my standard for good taste.

Her mindset is not military ball standards. It's appropriate for nightclubs or places with poles. A bit of class, knowing the history of the ball, liquor limitations and self respect.
