You've been to military balls. Like me, you've seen a wide variety of ball gowns. What is an appropriate ball gown? What is not? Can you give or show example?

Does it really matter I think not. If the spouse is non-military and is there to enjoy hemsf/herself and supporting their spouse rock on. I understand the whole conservative taste thing but I don't feel it matters as a whole.

The "Ladies outfit" does not meet social acceptance at such an event and she should have been asked to leave and come back in more suitable attire. The CPT should have known better and been reprimanded by his CO

Oh no I was voted down still not seeing it as an issue. If it is then publish a guideline before the event. Don't expect people to have the same view as you do.
