What's a tasteful military ball gown?

Well, considering the military is an organization of professionals, a tasteful gown is something that would be appropriate for a professional to wear. I can hardly agree with the gowns that leave little to the imagination. The "if you have it, flaunt it" mentality is not something dignified for a professional. If you have to ask if what you're wearing is showing too much skin, perhaps it is not something you should wear. There are numerous options out there where a lady can look beautiful and classy without having to be hanging out all over the place. Less is more is not always the best philosophy. Basically, if what you're wearing is something that covers less than your undergarments, it is not appropriate for a military ball. Military balls are supposed to be formal, organized events that bring units together, not a night out on the prowl or a night club. If you are a service member and you dress like this at said event, you will lose respect and it will undermine your leadership. If you are a spouse and dress like this, remember, it is not your image you're damaging, but the image of your significant other. Something to keep in mind.

When going to a military ball. Your spouse is a reflection of you and your leadership. Your leadership not only in the unit but at home. If your spouse wears something as if she is going to a club and not a military ball, then you regardless of your rank has a leadership and a respect issue with military standards.

Personally, there would be a fight. I'm a Grunt, and if there are Grunts there they are GOING to look. And then someone gets there feel bads hurt and then someone says something and then all hell breaks loose.

This is why we can't have good things! one person ruins it for us all. If it would have been the Private showing up with his stripper girl friend dress like this we would have escorted them both out!
But all jokes aside, This is highly unprofessional and I think I would have wasted the money on the ball tickets and the dress and not have went!

It is bad dress for a ball. But most men not all well look and say dam that looks good.

to see all of the responses to this question and picture, and here is my two cents:

1. No, No, No this is NOT an appropriate dress to wear to a military ball. I don't care if you have a slammin' body or not. You can look hot without having everything hang out. Being hot is about what you wear, how you wear it, and how you act. I think it was very bad form. When they think of him, they will think of HER, HER dress and the way she was acting, or dancing. She could have found something else. I'm sorry I think it was just bad form.

Looks like the same type of chick that would yell at privates to salute her because her husband is a officer.
