Almost every single day I remind myself that only about .002 of all of the negative thoughts that are screaming at me about what will happen if I get on that bus, if I go visit that friend, just walk down a street. I have not been shoot or had my throat slit from a person seating behind me on the bus. I also remind myself to look at the true facts when those negative tapes keep telling my that I cannot get anything done. That all I am good for is feeding the neighborhood feral cats.

I try to solve computer system problems, such as how to remove certain viruses, how to optimize the setups. I try to stay current with all major operating systems, and I remotely care for a friend's computer.

When not doing that, I attempt to keep up with artificial intelligence advancements.

And I subscribe to "Curiosity Stream", a streaming channel. And I watch and read every technical item that I can find.

I am 75 and find it a little bit harder to keep up like I used to when I was 35.

I try to meet other retirees (military & otherwise) a few times each week to discuss current events and hear "war stories" and life experiences. Average age of group is 74 years with eldest approaching 90. Free "senior coffee" is the magnet that brought all together. Sessions last from one to two hours in the morning.

When I fall into a depressive state from things that happened years ago I follow the suggestions my counselor gave me. (He was a combat, Purple Heart also has PTSD). I listen to a site on the internet (528Mhz) which is very relaxing and then I try to think of a place in a forest with a gentle stream and then I add animals
This works well when I have access to the internet
