To prioritize my mental health, I try to turn off all screens (especially the news) and read a book for at least half an hour. It helps clear my mind.

I invest my time in God’s Word rather than watching the news. I know without a doubt that God has everything under the control of His omnipotent will, even if it looks like it is out of control. He knows my beginning and my end and has kept me now for 73 years.

Each day I wake up and say what I am grateful for before I get out of bed. Being retired an a full time mom I have to be the best each day for my children. I continue to see a therapist with the VA. My focus is to be the best normal for me that I can be. I pray and look for the good in every situation as best as I can.

Better half has a “Peaceful “ garden complete with waterfall. I’ll go out there in the morning and drink my BR coffee and in the evening will sit out there with some Whiskey

I take walks daily and play online brain teaser games. This helps me decompress from whatever is trying to stress me out.

Speak up for yourself and your troops. A trained reflex to "stay in line" and "push through" can make speaking up for yourself difficult, especially in the military. Look for the signs of being overworked or disengaged in your workplace to take proactive measures to focus on your and your troop's mental health. Additionally, create a space for others to confide into you if they are seeking help and assist them in finding the resources they need to improve their mental health.

I exercise. I use to run, but after 2 knee surgeries, now I just do light cardio that is low impact. Exercise is great for mental health because it clears up the mind and gets the blood flowing!

I try not to watch the news and what Biden has done to destroy the military.
