Keep your mind active, and stop worring about things you have no control over!

Surround yourself with a group of individuals that share the same values and encourage support for each other. I joined the Masons which helped. As a Mason, I have encouraged other veterans to join or find similar groups that provide mental and emotional support. We currently have a Friday night cigar group that we call Group Therapy. After a long week, we gather together, share some fellowship, and enjoy some ball busting. But, we also use this time to share stories of the challenges from the prior week. And get input from each other as to better ways to deal with life as a whole. We have used Masonry as a positive guide to what we strive to become as individuals and as a group. "Have you made a difference today?" We all hope that we can answer that we have. And we have developed a fellowship that will last the rest of our lives.

Check and see that your thoughts are clear and not confusing. Do this every day.

To take care of my mental health, I start each day, by thanking God for the day, and reminding me that I AM WORTH it.
I had problems with my memory years ago, so indeed. I do thank GOD everyday that I can remember my name and the plan of the day.

We do a lot of traveling. Staying busy through non stress activities such as camping, fishing and hiking is key for us. Daily exercise also plays an important role in our home.

Keep positive thoughts about everything and continue to do things that make me happy like going for a walk, get my nails done, or paint.

COOKING! After a hard day or a long day cooking really gives me a stress break. Also, since I love to eat it works out great! I also use MMJ and the calming benefits are truly helpful!

Take time out, go to the beach, listening to the waves, yoga stretching listening to either spa music or ocean sounds. Ride my bike & sometimes sitting on my back deck for quiet time.

That's easy for me, and it boils down to effectively separating out what I can control from what I cannot. Those things outside my control cannot be worried about or fretted over as I cannot affect their outcome. The best I can do under such "out-of-control" circumstances, is to understand how I feel about it, convey that if beneficial to the person or situation, and then just let it play out - knowing it's outside my control - such as other people's behavior, situations I don't like or approve of, etc. Follow? In the end, I feel more relaxed and in control of my own emotions and "piece of mind."

Keep my family close! Knowing when to spend time with my family and separating myself from working too much to just taking in the small things like throwing the football with my Son Luke coloring with my Daughter Alayna, dancing with my toddler Finlee and going with my Daughter Emy.
