Something that I do to prioritize my mental health is to always follow up on my exams. Listening to my primary care doctor closely for my upcoming mental exams. Making it a priority, by even posting notes on my refrigerator just to remind me of this upcoming important appointment. Keeping Mental Health at the top of my list, makes me feel like I've accomplished what I set out to do, and that is to be the best that I can be.

I use one note on my PC it's like a journal or memoirs. If I have a dream and it reminds me of something I write it down. If I had a bad day, I comment on it. Most of my problems are solved this way.

I try to ensure that my happiness is always UNCONDITIONAL and NOT CONDITIONAL (based upon other outside factors).

Two mottos:
-Thankfulness is key to Happiness
-If I don't like it, change it, if I cant change it then change the way I think about it

I take time to myself, meditate, listen to an audiobook or something that takes my mind of other things that are going on. I love to be active so I make sure I get out and hike or ride my bike as often as I can. It makes me feel better when I get moving and do something I enjoy.

Since I earned/received the free lifetime hunt/fish/trap license in Nebraska. I took up the art of trapping and fur harvesting. Enjoy it greatly with my two sons. I also got certified as an instructor for hunter education. It is a huge mental health prioritized journey.

I try to stay as active as I can since my wife's death. My son needs me now more than ever and I plan on being here for him for a long time. She would want us both to live full and happy lives, and gosh darn it, I'm not going to disappoint her!

The thing I do is to realize that I may be having a Mental Health issue. Initially I try to recall what caused the problem/issue and then remove myself from the space. Once able I make every attempt to think and do positive things. Ie take a walk, swing a golf club, go fishing, etc. In other words, focus on things that bring positve personal satisfaction in my life. I truly believe that your sound mental health requires understanding you own peace of mind. Being conscious of all your emotions is extremely important.

I take things slowly, deliberately, and avoid taking on too much at once.
