Hello all,
I’m sure this question has been asked millions of times before, but what’s the fastest way to break in a new pair of boots? I’m competing in my brigade Best Warrior Competition / Soldier of the Year next week and we were all advised to bring multiple pairs of boots. I have a pair of primary’s, but given that it might rain / snow next week I bought a new pair (only other pair I had was unserviceable) of garmonts.

Only way to break them in is to wear them. Hate to break it to you, young Soldier, but I predict some blisters in your near future. Better get some moleskin STAT

SPC Jeremiah Bishop - Good luck, Soldier.

SSG(P): Great advice. I would not wear new boots on a ruck march. I used moleskin too - It worked every time. Thanks for serving! COL L
SPC Jeremiah BishopOne evening 65 years ago, with trepidation, I filled my brand new Corcorans with water, I dumped the water the next morning and put my feet in. It was a long day, my feet felt squishy for a while. After a few weeks of wearing and drying, those Corcorans fitted my feet like gloves and were ready for a spit shine!
best way - walk in them - second thing - you screwed up, always and I mean always have 2 to 3 pairs of boots broken in, you should have been rotating boots every day.
