I have no security clearance but I am a US citizen. I ETS on March 4, 2022. Either I reclass to that MOS or I leavr the army, I really want to get an experience of being an IT specialist. Thanks

You cannot do any CMF25 job in the Army without a clearance, period.
Thank you for your service and for serving. You should definitely start taking civilian classes prior to ETS to get a jump start on your civilian IT job.

Assuming you have the required line scores, have you talked with your unit retention NCO? If you have the scores, then there are no issues, and once a you re-up your clearance is processed; your unit S2 has a justification to get to work on it.

Hate to sound harsh but I can't think of someone going through the process of reclassing you if you are planning on leaving the Army soon.

Talk to S2 and apply for secret clearance. They will ask for the reason of your request. You can either tell them you want to re-class for that MOS, or that you intend to become a WO. This is how I got my clearance. The investigation takes about 3 to 6 months, mine was done while I was deployed to Afghanistan. Good luck.

I was a 91B and just reclass to 25B, your retention NCO can help you get your Clearance by providing you a short memo to add to your clearance request packet.

Did you not enjoy working on vehicles?

I didn't have a chance to work on vehicles. I was on MP for only 6months and they just send me driving my Brigade Command Group. So I was CSM driver for the last 2years.SGT Gary Lavagnino

You may consider ETSing and going in the reserves It is a relatively easy process to reclass in the reserves as opposed to Active Duty. Do your best to get the clearance and if they don’t let you reclass , consider the reserves. You can always go IRR after ETSing and work with a Reserve Career Counselor until you can find the unit/MOS you want.

So, what is the reason of you not having one that’s my main question. Recently there was a decision stating ALL SMs will have to apply at minimum for a secret. Talk to your Career Counselor is Step 1, Step 2 he will generate the template and it’ll give the S2 the justification to put the investigation IN for you.

Doesn’t matter that’s even more of a reason to do this then. All in all, bring your naturalization certificate to the S2, tell them you are reclassing to 25B which needs a Secret clearance and you need to fill out an RPSA and you’ll be fine from there.

Havent seen 91b be allowed anything but packet mos to reclass to. Unless you have the luckiest day of your life the mos changes from understrength. Ive only see 1 91b reclass to medical in the 5 years ive been in. Get your clearance before you get out if you can, take advantage of taking IT certifications if possible through your education center.

Go to college. Use your GI bill, then be a civilian employee, either contractor or DOD. You get paid more and don't have to go to war. I know a couple of kids who are doing just that and they work happily ever after... In the meantime, you can take correspondence courses and self-taught. Everything that you ever want to know and do can be found online, especially on YouTube.

Questions are you in your reenlistment window, have you spoken to your retention NCO, have you actually research the information other than just go the easy route and seek an answer on Rally point? 25B is one of my MOS I love it before 25B I was a 13B, if I was able to I would go back signal, but from what I gather here you only seeking an answer rather than research and actually asking your units retention NCO.
