I believe that the best way to start a conversation is to ask a question. If you make a statement, some people may shrug and walk away. Others may argue. But questions are not threatening. They are conversational door mats welcoming all who come to the discussion.

Sadly, RP admins seem to have a problem with questions. If you ask a question and include a link in the details, the admins toss the question. Why is that you suppose? What do they have against questions?

Maybe they consider it a link and not a question or update? I don't know.

I love it when people say "I don't know". Don't you? Well, I don't know either. Like you, I can guess. Maybe if we could see all the postings that they altered compared to those they didn't, we could make an intelligent guess. You have the time or resources for that? I don't. So I guess we'll just have to wait for them to respond.

EXACTLY, but some disagree with the policy and choose to ignore it.
Then when shared links that are incorrectly posted as a question, are properly and automatically converted to a shared link (the system then removing the "question" and titling the shared link from the linked automatically from the article verbiage)
The member feigns confusion and lack of understanding, though its been explained, examples provided, supporting rules posted or linked to..

http://support.rallypoint.com/customer/en/portal/articles/2256396-about-the-home-page-and-posting-on-rallypoint?b_id=4766
The guidelines are there for all to review, its not a conspiracy or rogue Admin. Most times anything ONE admin does is posted for all of us to view and review. Thus a member here can rest assured, no one admin is running amok. If a members improper question was converted to a shared link or update the entire Admin team is behind the decision.

o So the guidelines are clear.
o The decision is held to be correct by the entire admin team available at the time (or sometimes not and the Community manager steps in and reverts the corrected content.)
o If members knowingly post something in conflict with the positing guidelines they should expect it to be converted to the appropriate post type.. that we don't, is nothing more then we did not see it.. Not having your improper post converted is not an admission by inaction on the Admins part it was ok, we simply did not see it...
o Members should feel free to point out to an admin they posted a shared link as a question improperly and we will be happy to convert it for you.

Absolutely and we're human so we make mistakes when you get the email that says admin has altered your tags the admin's name is right there if you think we've made a mistake please and I mean that sincerely click that admin's name send us a note ask us what's up

Then try to understand are justification you may not always agree with that but at least you'll understand it

Have purpose in what you are saying. Listen to the other person instead of just waiting for your turn to talk, and ask questions about what they are saying.

Best way to start a conversation "Did you hear the one about the........?"
But, what about the RP admins exercising censorship on selected posts? I had not heard anything about this before. Censorship of any kind in any forum rups me way wrong. If the RP admins, (who are you?) think you need to exercise and editorial role please present your parameters to the RP membership at large and allow us to submit rebuttal and comment. I am really not happy to hear that this is happening. I don't understand the statement by Cpt Jack Durish asking admins why questions with links seem to get lost along the way.
