my wife and I are dual military and apart of MACP. my wife was put on assignment to Korea and was given an advanced assignment to fort hood.she recently left to Korea and is in processing. once she gets done in processing how long will it take for us to get an assignment for fort hood? also, her orders due state that she does have an advanced assignment for fort hood. she just has to re-enlist in December so that she has enough time in her contract to pcs there. PM me if there are any questions or for whatever other reason. and the reason I ask how long it takes is cause I'm hoping I come down on orders for fort hood before the next upcoming rotation next year. if I get orders for the next rotation then my wife's time in Korea will overlap with me being deployed elsewhere and we will be separated for 21 months on top of our 2 kids being separated from us.

Assignment instructions are what you come down on. Orders are what you physically hold in your hands.
The assignment process starts by receiving Assignment Instructions and ends with you having orders in your possession

ok, so my wife just arrived in Korea and is in processing. we checked online and she is still on assignment to Korea but whats those go away she can call branch and ask them to get us on assignment to hood correct? I'm trying to be as proactive as I can.

like I said before. the reason I ask how long is because I am hoping we come down on assignment for fort hood before next years rotation. I already called branch and emailed them what my situation is so I hope that helps but I would like to get all the info I can and in doing so I can be more proactive in keeping my family together hopefully

SPC (Join to see) as I said, your report date will be based on your spouse's report date. Her report date will be 13 months after her arrival date. Asking your branch to help you dodge a rotation isn't going to be a successful ploy. You think you're saying, "I'm trying to keep my family together" what your branch hears is "help me sham out of this deployment".
You'll get your assignment instructions whenever your branch gets around to the manning cycle that covers your report date. Probably 5-7 months from now. Your spouse should get their Assignment Instructions no later than 6 months from DEROS.

You do understand that MACP will try very hard to get you co-assigned If you check with your brach/MACP yet?, but it is not locked in stone. Assignment and orders are hand in hand- you get notified of assignment and then the orders follow. Hvae you checked with your branch/MACP yet?

yes I do understand that. before she got put on assignment for Korea we had orders for Alaska, but they got cancelled because it was for a cbrn mos and she was no longer cbrn, she reclassed to supply. so after those orders got cancelled she was put on assignment for an un accompanied tour to korea with advanced assignment to FORT HOOD. im sorry if some of this does make sense as I know I may not be explaining this all too well. but yes I have called branch and I am not on assignment yet. I was told as soon as she is done in processing in korea she can call branch to get them to start working on getting us put on assignment to hood.

Your assignment report date will most likely coincide with your spouse's report date to Hood. That will be 13 months after her report date to Korea. Unless your unit has placed a stabilization AEA code on you for the Korea rotation, then it will be after that.

I just want to much sure you and your spouse understands, an advance assignment is not guaranteed. Even after your wife inprocess in Korea, she still won’t receive her next assignment instructions until 6-8 months from now.

But regardless we should get stationed together since we are enrolled into macp correct? As I do follow her because she is higher ranking

As long as you guys make sure your branch managers are communicating you’ll be fine. SPC (Join to see)
