What’s the likelihood of being able to go to a Pre-Ranger course and going to school when I get to Italy?

I’m PCSing to Italy in September (not sure where yet) I’m looking to go to Ranger School soon I’ve already completed my labs. I went through the Bragg course in 2016 so I imagine they’d be similar. If anyone’s currently in Italy any advice on the process would be appreciated. Since I won’t be at Bragg long enough what’s the likelihood of being able to go to a Pre Ranger course and going to school when I get to Italy? If anyone’s completed the course in Italy can you tell me what to expect?

Pre Ranger is a local school. There is no requirement for preranger to attend Ranger school, it's just something units implement. No unit wants to buy a plane ticket for a soldier to go to Ranger School and fail. Since the unit is paying, they can make up whatever rules they want. That also means it's up to your unit if they want to send you to pre Ranger while you are there.
If you want to go to Ranger School enroute, your branch will pay for it. The Army doesn't have any requirements for attending PreRanger and they will send you to Ranger School if you request, whether you've attended any prep course or not.
However, you'd need to submit your request very soon and be ready to go immediately if your report date is September.

Ranger school as TDY enroute is a tough get. The typical Army school is always the same length with a predictable completion date. Ranger school could be a 2 month course, or it could be a 3-6 month course.

SGM (Join to see) right now Ranger and Infantry branch are offering to send 11B and 11C who are PCSing, as long as they request it far enough in advance. That's according to the last briefing they gave here at JBLM.

As long as your physical is up to date, call branch and have him send you the enroute instructions. Get the paperwork signed and send back to branch. I just received my enroute class date, immediately after completion I will pcs to Italy. You will have to push your report date back. It’s actually an easy process, if you want it, you’ll do it.

SSG (Join to see) I didn’t have order when I did it, get your class date and once you receive orders you can send up a 4187 to push your date back 90days.
