My assumption is he's talking about a movie that you couldn't watch/finish or were hesitant to watch/finish whether it be because it was a scary movie, gory, etc. As far as the choices for the pole, I think he's just getting at where the movie was made. See my response for my answer and it may make sense.

SGT (Join to see) as a kid, I couldn't watch Michael Jackson's Thriller video. I know is not a movie but it just scared the hell out of me.

SGT (Join to see) the only movies I can't watch are horror movies that are plausible. Not the supernatural ones, but the ones where someone just goes nuts and kills. Misery is my love hate movie. It is a great movie with a great story that I cannot watch because of the hobbling scene. The first time I saw the original Robocop, the scene where Murphy gets blasted with a shot gun I had turn off (mind you I was much younger then). Now it is one of my favorite satires on American Culture from the 80s.

PO3 Steven Sherrill is almost unbelievable how they cut that scene when they did the remake. Like, seriously?! That death scene is what made people get attached to Murphy and you cut it?!

See, I prefer the more realistic ones for some reason. For example, my favorite slasher movie series is the Scream series. Aside from Ghostface's ability to appear out of no where it's very plausible for someone to pull off a spree like they do in those movies. That and I love spending the movie trying to figure out who the killer could be before their reveal based on clues throughout.
