Was working but no home, so someone took me in till I could get back on my feet and buy my own home. They helped me manage my finances and all. I am too grateful

When I was crippled with pregnancy, my husband committed many thoughtful acts, like cleaning the snow off my car or silently hold my hand while I was having a hormonal moment.

After retiring as E6 Injured, there were no jobs were available, yet a kind person hired me as building technician, I still hold the same position 25 years later, I am still grateful for the chance someone took on me. BU1 Chandler

When my brother passed away in Chicago and I didn't have enough time to cover me on my job, one of my co-worker donated the time to me. What a blessing...

After I got out of active duty in 1986, I went 5 months without a job. I moved to Charlotte, NC with my wife and 3 teen daughters to start work at the power company. My girls did not know any kids in the neighborhood. An elderly couple in our new church (Odie and Ruby Page) paid a $350 fee for us to join a neighborhood pool so our girls could get to know the kids in the neighborhood. It was a real blessing to our girls. I had never met anyone that would do something like that. Note, Odie Page was also a veteran.

Smiled, ask how I can help you. Or after I have helped them smiled and said thank you!

The most thoughtful thing someone has done for me while in service was when my career in the military began while in the reserves. At first my ASVAB score was low because I never took the test seriously in high school, but later retook it to raise my score. Then, I couldn't get into reclass into another MOS school until a slot was opened at my unit. Thankfully, after many calls to anyone who would listen found a unit who would slot me and allow me to reclass and attend the MOS school. This would not have happened if it weren't for a senior leader who took my call and understood my goal then proceeded to help me. This thoughtful act changed my life and am eternally grateful for the senior leader to have intervened.
