This is great question to ask. What comes to mind at first is a post I read a while back in the beginning of the trans-gender discussions. The one that stood out to me was 1SG Jerry Heally's response. He said the military doesn't accommodate to us, rather we conform to the military.

The camaraderie for sure. It is nice to come on here and see others that have been in the same experiences as you. You can connect and enjoy the connections with others that were either in or are still in.

The most uplifting thing on Rally Point for me is the contests like this that provides incentives for veterans to socially engage and make connections.

The most important thing to me that I have read on rally point is looking back on what we used to be and what we are now. We have all come a long way. I have looked back on soldiers that were with me and wondered if they have thought about me as I have thought of them. I hope and pray for them and all the things that they've gone through the nightmares the dreams and hope that they've been able to oversee them. I pray day in and day out for the recovery for them and for their family members in hopes that they will be able to someday become who they were once were before during and after the meaning of the words thank you for your service.

It looks like vets are getting more chances to succeed these days. It is uplifting to see this for a 75 year old vet. It has not always been this way.
