What’s the regulation for post partum soldiers going on deployment?

My unit is scheduled to deploy and they are trying to send me as a late deployer for “operational purposes” however I had to defer my PCS orders because I’m pregnant and I can’t PCS until after 7 months of giving birth. With the timeline they want to send me I’d be going for up to two weeks, but that’s not enough time for me to come back, clear and still take PCS leave.

"According to DoD Directive 1315.7 (1991), women in all services are deployable after 4 months postpartum, unless they receive a medical waiver."
I mean you can't deploy while you're pregnant. So they want to deploy you for two weeks after you give birth? I guess I am confused by that part.
Where does it say you can't PCS for 7 months after you give birth? I found this: "Except under unusual circumstances, she should not be reassigned to an overseas command until the pregnancy is completed. However, she may be reassigned within CONUS but medical clearance must be obtained." I guess that falls under the medical clearance part.
It seems weird they're trying to deploy you around the time you're going to PCS.

I was first scheduled to PCS in November of this year, but due to becoming pregnant and being due in January, I couldn’t PCS. I tried to defer my orders until March but the retention NCO says I can’t go to a deployable unit until 7 months after giving birth.

You are considered deployable after 6 months from the day of the child’s birth. See AR 614-30, Chapter 3-18, para a (4). There commander might grant some exceptions but those are very rare.

Thank you sir, however I saw 7 months as well as the 6 months in table 2-1. I’m not sure I guess what it means but the 6 months is definite which would put me within my 45 day window that I could be granted (from what I’ve been told by my chain of command) from my report date.

It says for someone who is pregnant and you are either a single pregnant soldier or you are married and unaccompanied you have up to the 7th month to PCS and if you are within 6 months of DEROS at expected date of confinement and in long tour area. Or if you are pregnant up to the 7th month and within 60 days of DEROS at expected date of confinement and in short term area.
This doesn't say that you can't PCS while pregnant. It looks like it says females can PCS up to 7 months pregnant. Also that DoD Directive (Unless there's a newer one) says that females can deploy in any service 4 months post partum.
There was a female in my first unit who I know deployed before her daughter was 6 months old. I swear her daughter was only like 2 months old when we deployed. She was my roommate at Speicher and I first saw her thought "Didn't she just have a baby?" That would have to get a waiver but possible.
At most it's generally going to be units wait until your six months post partum ends to deploy someone. You have 6 months to pass a PT test once the pregnancy ends. The pregnancy profile is only 45 days post partum.
Everything i have read seems to say females can PCS pregnant unless they are going somewhere that can't handle their needs. Then it gets put on hold.

So yes you couldn't PCS - but there's nothing about you are non-deployable for 7 months post partum.
