Hello All,
As a recently retired soldier I have been getting more involved in community projects. I believe that our service never ends. For my personal New Years resolution, I plan to get more involved with planning community events in collaboration with my American Legion organization. True involvement requires resilience, dedication, and the attitude to never quit. As a key member with my local veterans organization I have recently been given the opportunity to collaborate and develop events that matter. I plan to double my efforts this year as a veterans advocate and grow more awareness for in our communities and how military veterans play a vital role in our lives.
Regards,
Scott Mack

As my 45th birthday hastily approaches (January 2023) I am realizing daily the importance of self care; especially mental health! This brand new year offers so much potential and through my local veteran community I will (with extreme anxiety at just the thought) put myself out there. I have lost so many to suicide this past year alone and I refuse to lose myself! Even though I feel like my only "friends" that really understand me and my daily struggles are from the VA crisis line, I know I have things to offer someone, even if it's just an ear! Please, whomever is reading this, do not make a temporary emotional feeling into a permanent decision...call the VA crisis line now at 988 (select 1), go to VA.gov and hit chat link (top of page for crisis line), or text 838255 or visit veteranscrisisline.net for more information. Great big virtual hugs to all my brothers and sisters in arms! Love, Kim
