I am a 52-year-old female Army Veteran who served from 1989 until 1993. There was an error with my active duty time calculations and I could not obtain any of the benefits. For a long time, I did not call myself a veteran. I recently came across an organization that helped me get back on my feet when I was experiencing struggles. And they informed me of my benefits.
My new year's resolution is to buy back all that time wasted thinking I was not even considered a veteran, using all my college benefits, becoming a volunteer at Veterans events, and getting my mental and physical health back in shape using the health benefits I have now.
My life is better now thanks to that organization that continues supporting veterans like me who are clueless about their status and benefits.

I am not sure where you're located, reach out to your local Health Department. Most have a Chronic Illness Clinic, which offers classes on T2DM management. These classes are a great resource in the community. The VA also has Diabetes management programs that are helpful. I hope you achieve your goal of wellness in 2023.
Start a gratitude journal: Write down three things you're grateful for each day to cultivate a positive attitude.
