Currently employed, not in my field.
Constantly looking for better employment, not just for more money.
I am not using rally point for employment needs, all my employment desires are government based. I don't think the private industry would have me at this point.

PO2 (Join to see), if you decide to look outside of government jobs then there are lots of opportunities that might be a good fit for you on RallyPoint. If the government jobs aren't shaking out have you thought about DoD contractor roles? These will often be very similar to a role in the government but they have a little more freedom and flexibility in their hiring.

SrA (Join to see), those sound like two great roles that you are filling. Good for you for working two jobs!

I'm always looking for a job. My current job is fantastic. The pay leaves a lot to be desired, however. I've also started a position is a company rep/passive salesman. This pays better, but is only part-time.
Good jobs are hard to come by in this area without a real degree.

SPC (Join to see), a full degree definitely helps in the job market. Do you know that RallyPoint also has a full Education Corner where we partner with some of the best schools and universities in the country for both online and campus degrees? The educations are good, the schools' reputations are strong and it could help to give you the leg up that you might be looking for in the job market. Check it out (on the RallyPoint desktop site) here: https://www.rallypoint.com/careers/education

Elizabeth Malkin I appreciate the assistance. The community-at-large here are of the opinion that online education is probably best avoided, and my current employment precludes the classroom environment.
I do keep an eye on employment opportunities offered here on RP, and look forward to becoming a valuable member of a team, and getting paid for it, of course. My current employer pays me well enough (I think) for the tasks required of me, but I feel underutilized. But this opinion seems common among veterans, as well.

SPC (Join to see), that is a great explanation of where you are at, thank you. We definitely understand your hesitation towards some online degrees and you are wise to feel that but I think that the reputation of the school makes a big difference, for example, we are working with many schools that are some of the best in the country, University of Maryland, Norwich, Colorado State, and I think online degrees from those schools could serve you very well if the timing made sense.
Great to hear that you are checking out the employment opportunities on RallyPoint, hopefully something will fall into place soon!

Currently working as an Analyst for a Biotechnology firm. Not actively looking for a job, but if a good opportunity rises, I will probably take it.

SrA Edward Vong, it sounds like you are in a great spot but are keeping an open mind which is a good idea as you never know when a different opportunity might come along.

Of course, I am always looking for best opportunity. I'm actually pretty lucky considering I separated with no degree and managed to land a good career where I can grow.

SrA Edward Vong, that is definitely very luck, and quite rare. Glad that you were able to land so successfully on your feet!

My full time job at one time was that of Cpt Firefighter. Medically retired after 19 1/2 years.

I am still looking, but to be honest, I am not looking really hard. I was able to build up a bit of a savings to aide in being a slacker. I have noticed that having a TS SCI doesn't really matter if you don't have either an IT or Intel background. Just my two cents....

Having a nightmare of a time finding anything other than part time fast food or retail in Tampa, FL....a lot of employers say they are veteran friendly but it's all a joke in my experience.
EDIT: I checked the career section here on RP...unless I have a CDL, can deal with retail, or have a degree in healthcare then sure I can find something. There's only THREE employers in the Tampa area.
