Unemployed, looking for work but not actively. Want part time work to be with my daughter as much as possible. Jack of a lot of trades, mastering most none of it. Unless someone needs an intermediate skilled camper/firestarter.

SPC Jeffrey Bly, I have the perfect opportunity for you! Have you heard of the new company Instacart? It was just listed as one of the most valuable private companies in the U.S.. They have a news specific focus to hire vets and are partnering with RallyPoint to do it. It is a great part time job as you choose your own hours, when you work and how much you work with great benefits too! Check it out: https://www.instacart.com/shoppers/apply?utm_source=rallypoint&utm_medium=job_posting&utm_campaign=pilot1
Become an Instacart shopper - earn money shopping or delivering groceries with Instacart! It’s a fun and flexible way to earn money on your own time.

I am disabled. Left work after 30+ years doing mechanic work. I have R.A. bad in hands, feet, shoulder etc. I would love to go back to work but who would hire me if I could not perform my duties. Fighting SSI and DAV trying to get help and that's not working. This June will be 1 year and yes I miss work but now I do not have to deal with chronic pain due to setting around or riding a wheel chair (when needed) and no stress.

Many companies need mechanical experience on the phones for tech support . You do not need to type since there are many speech to type programs and the phone with autoanswer and hang up when you are done. The 64 dollar question is could you explain how to fix over the phone. I did it for 18 years in my last job before retirement.

I have contacted the Vets rep. My biggest issue is the chronic pain. I am a hands on mechanic. God gave me a gift that I do enjoy and that was being able to touch, smell hear and taste mechanical problems and quickly solve them and I thank God every day and night for that ability. I can approach something and know nothing about it then watch it and see how it functions and solve issues. I can help others solve problems over a phone using layman terms (Communication skills I adapted being brought up the way I was). Only problem is I can not write, spell or use proper grammar. Go figure. lol I live in an area that is well...... underdeveloped and never tried to do better due to being smart enough to help those here who did not understand higher level tech and communications. I could interpret what they did not understand. To enlist in the A.F. Res. I scored so high mechanically I had any option I wanted to choose. Yes I would like to try a job like this and worked as a R.P.P. (Retail Parts Pro)and C.P.P. (Commercial Parts Pro) for Advance Auto Parts for 5 years before giving into the chronic pain. I imagine with some training I could work from home but who would invest in a 49 year old who has the issues that I do. Ohh I do think my noddle ( Brain) is going with the age but I hear that doing and trying new things keep if from going. Not a rant just the facts. God Bless and thanks!!!

the only jobs really in auburn are factory jobs, which i'm not qualified for, tech jobs are in syracus and unless I'm making over 13.00 an hr its not worth the commute. what I need to do is finish my degree at the local community college and move. In life we're suppose to make more as we get older not less, i need to reverse this pattern.
