My favorite spot is anyplace I am alone on a wilderness lake with nobody in sight and can just relax and forget about the world for a while. It doesn't even matter if the fish are biting. Just being there soaking in nature and watching the world go by. This can be anyplace in the United States or Canada.

Santee-Cooper Lakes in South Carolina is by far my best fishing hole for any kind of fish year round. It has very large blue cats and flat heads. Have hooks some bigger than 50lbs + that we were unable to land them as they broke the line or rods...lol.
Have also caught my biggest large mouth bass, 6lbs there. Have also caught bream as big a 2lbs. Have never seen bream that big before until my brother in law showed me how to spot'em.
Santee Cooper has so many kinds of fish that is very enjoyable. You can start your fishing trip fishing for bass, bream, crappie or what ever and at night go cat fishing. You don't have to fish at night for catfish as they bite in daylight too. At night, shallow waters (2 - 5 ft) is best for big cats. If you have never fished this lake, I highly recommend it. There are many fish camps around the entire lake with accommodation.

Cape Fear River, North Carolina

Well stocked ponds are a good place to go with the kids but I would have to say that Tenakee Springs, Alaska is the best, just have to watch out for brown bears. To be able to fish for salmon and halibut and then cook it the same day, wow it's like being in heaven.

I routinely fish the Rappahannock River near the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay and the Chesapeake Bay in Virginia. I also fish Pamlico Sound out of Teach's Lair Marina and from the beaches in Hatteras Island, NC (just returned from a week of fishing in late June). Occasionally, I will take the boat into the Atlantic Ocean for certain fish species.

The Duck Valley ShoPai lakes on the border of Idaho and Nevada. The People do an amazing job of conserving hard fighting, huge trout in Mountain View and Sheep Creek Reservoir and in Lake Billy Shaw. It is an honor to fish on their reservation land and I always catch many big fish.

Offshore Jupiter Florida

Favorite Place is 11 Mile Reservoir Colorado. Best cast by island in the reservoir.

Deep Sea fishing off of Southern Coronado Island off the coast of Mexico. I caught 2 bonito tunas and a barracuda.
