I have a couple places I love to fish.
The first is the Marias River. The tailwater below Tiber Dam or Lake Elwell south of Chester Montana holds huge trout. There is a lot of competition in this river by northern pike and walleyes. You aren't going to catch a lot of trout here when you go fishing but you have a chance of catching the "fish of a lifetime" whenever you fish the first 5 or so miles of this tailwater.
The second is relaxing fishing in Fresno Lake just west of Havre, MT. There are various locations that you can go and fish from the bank. I enjoy taking a folding chair, some smelt and setting it out on a fish-finder rig. There are quite a few northern pike looking for a meal. Getting out and sitting beside the water catching an occasional fish helps soothe some of the anxiety away. In my opinion, Northern pike is some of the best eating fish out there. Many people love walleye but give me a pike any day of the week. They have the difficult to fillet y bones but catch a big enough one and you will find them easy enough.

The greatest snook fishing anywhere in our Great Country is in the Florida Everglades. Fishing the Ten Thousand Islands and back country is an enormous challenge for the most elusive, hard fighting and best eating fish I know of.

fishing pretty much anywhere in the Great Lakes is a good time. It all depends on what you are fishing for. I myself prefer the St Clair, Detroit River and lake Erie for walleye

My favorite spot is Osprey Lake in Galloway, Ohio.
It is a nice place to fish as well as enjoy the sounds of natural.

My favorite fishing place in the world is about 50 feet from my porch, about a three acre lake stocked with Florida hybrid bass and very large bream.

The best day I had the stereo up and was doing a little fun casting and on two consecutive casts caught a couple 5 - 6 pound bass that fought me all the way until they were released for another day.
