Ah yes, "Jody calls," we've all heard them, marched to them, run to them, or called them out in a motivated tone; so, what are some of your all time favorites? As this is an inter-service thread, we want to hear from all of you--Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, Reserve of each of the above, and the National Guard--so what are your favorite service-specific cadences, and do you have an old standby or trusty go-to cadence? Perhaps it was one that was once popular but somehow fell out of use, or maybe an just an old standard or unique favorite. Please feel free to share any photos, videos, sound files, stories, associated memories, and/or anything else needed to help to tell your story. I'm sure that an old classic or two comes to mind, so "one, two, three, four-or... this is what we're here for-or..." So, pull up a keyboard and let's get this thing started, thank you for all that you do, and... see you all in the discussion threads!

Yellow Bird poor yellow bird. Saw a post that said you might be a veteran if you know this birds fate and had a picture of a yellow canary on a window sill. I had to laugh.

Looked and looked and perhaps I missed it but one of my favorites wasn't a PT cadence but rather a marching cadence. It's been over 14 years since I heard it but it's silly and makes you laugh. Goes something like this:

My girl's a vegetable
She lives in a hospital

* (Chorus)
And i'd buy her anything
to keep her alive hey!
to keep her alive...

My girl, she's got no hair
Razor stubble everywhere
(Chorus)

My girl, she's got no eyes
Just two empty sockets full of flies
(Chorus)

My girl, she's got no nose
Just a hole where mucous flows
(Chorus)

She's got no arms or legs
All she's got are hooks and pegs
(Chorus)

She's got her own TV
They call it an EKG
(Chorus)

One day I played a joke
Pulled the plug and watched her choke
(Chorus)

And so on, you can improvise on this one and throw your two lines in...

... While researching I discovered it's a banned Jodie. <Sigh> We're so fixated with political correctness. People can't laugh at themselves or take a joke anymore.

We did this cadenance when I was in AIT. But very few Drill Sergeants would let us, most of the time it was used as an excuse to smoke us.

Well he comes into work,
At 5:30,
And you think he's motivated,
But he ain't fooling me.

He sang Hii-hooooo Siiiiilver
And a yipee-kaaaya
Cuz he's a sick call ranger,
There's something new every day.

Well first it was his feet,
And then it was his back.
Next thing you know-O,
It's gonna be a heart attack.

He sang Hii-hooooo Siiiiilver
And a yipee-kaaaya
Cuz he's a sick call ranger,
There's something new every day.

Well look to your left,
And look to your right.
Aaand you ain't gonna find him,
'Cuz he ain't fit to fight.

He sang Hii-hooooo Siiiiilver
And a yipee-kaaaya
Cuz he's a sick call ranger,
There's something new every day.
