Ah yes, "Jody calls," we've all heard them, marched to them, run to them, or called them out in a motivated tone; so, what are some of your all time favorites? As this is an inter-service thread, we want to hear from all of you--Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, Reserve of each of the above, and the National Guard--so what are your favorite service-specific cadences, and do you have an old standby or trusty go-to cadence? Perhaps it was one that was once popular but somehow fell out of use, or maybe an just an old standard or unique favorite. Please feel free to share any photos, videos, sound files, stories, associated memories, and/or anything else needed to help to tell your story. I'm sure that an old classic or two comes to mind, so "one, two, three, four-or... this is what we're here for-or..." So, pull up a keyboard and let's get this thing started, thank you for all that you do, and... see you all in the discussion threads!

Shoot, now a days, PVTs are leaving Basic and AIT with a row and a half ribbons LOL.

I do remember a SSG in one of my units sounding off with this cadences once...the BN CDR then jumped out  and changed it to "Oh Hey SSG Don't be blue...You are now a private now too..."

HAHA...Awesome come back from the BC.  During "motivational or team building runs" you should be able to have a little fun.  As long as it's kept clean and do your best not to offend anyone.

One of the best variants of the "...don't be blue" cadence I've ever heard was when a SFC jumped out during a Company run and called "Hey LT don't be sad, I just found out I'm your dad.  Hey 1SG, don't be blue, I just found out I'm your daddy too."

Great day.

"Rumble in the Jungle"

Verse1

Ranger tryna earn that combat patch...

Alligator waitin' round Three Ropes' Bridge...

Standin' there with his mouth, wide open...

He's just a-wishin', a-prayin', hopin'...

Hey there Mr. Ranger, don't you slip and slide...

'Cause you'll be in for the fight of your life!

Chorus

There's gonna be a rumble (gonna be a rumble)

Rumble in the jungle (rumble in the jungle)

There's gonna be a fight (gonna be a fight)

In the woods tonight (in the woods tonight)

[Repeat]

Verse2

Late last night, the Ranger drinkin' gin

He was still drunk when he fell in

Dove right in the water, fell outta sight

Alligator movin' like a flash of light

Bodies in the water goin' flippity flop

Bubbles in the water goin' blippity bop

We all know that the Ranger didn't lose

'Cause he broke the surface wearing alligator shoes

Chorus

There's gonna be a rumble (gonna be a rumble)

Rumble in the jungle (rumble in the jungle)

There's gonna be a fight (gonna be a fight)

In the woods tonight (in the woods tonight)

[Repeat]

Obviously looking at my previous cadences, I like to spice it up and try differenct cadences. Here's another.

"HEY SOLDIER!"

"When that left foot strikes the grown, all I wan' hear is that 'What!' sound"

(Formation cries out 'WHAT!' on their left foot)

"Hey private, stop looking at me, stop staring at me."
"The other day, you missed formation." x2
"Kick down your door, give me that playstation." x2

"Hey Soldier, stop looking at me, stop staring at me."
"The other day, you missed PT." x2
"Went to the hall, took your MRE." x2

(Formation cries out 'WHAT!' on their left foot)

"It's in my rucksack, my rucksack."
"That gin & juice, it's in my rucksack, my rucksack."
"That rum & coke, it's in my rucksack, my rucksack."

"Give me an iced cold michelob, pop the top and you drink real slow." (Formation repeats)
"Give me an iced cold miller light, you pop the top and you feeling alright."

"YEEEEEEEA!, OH YEAHHHH!" x2
"YEEEEEEEA!, OH YEAHHHH!" x2
"Somebody ain't gonna make it, you're tiny little hearts won't take it" x2

It's not widely known, but I've tailored these a bit.

BLUE FALCON

"Blue Falcon! He's a Blue Falcon"
"Blue Falcon! He's a SGT Davis (or any name)"
"Blue Falcon! ah He's a Blue Falcon"
"My buddies in a foxhole, with a bullet in his chest.
Thats when I stole his poncho, so I can get some rest!"

"Blue Falcon! He's a Blue Falcon"
"Blue Falcon! He's a SGT Thompson (or any name)"
"Blue Falcon! ah He's a Blue Falcon"
"My buddy's in a foxhole with a bullet in his knee, medic says he's wounded, so I took his MREee!"

"Blue Falcon! He's a Blue Falcon"
"Blue Falcon! He's a SGT Thompson (or any name)"
"Blue Falcon! ah He's a Blue Falcon"

Oh man! This is my bread and butter! I look forward to company/battalion/brigade/NCO/division/corps/post runs just for this. My favorites are the ones that the creative mind come up with. I usually start with one everybody knows and then slowly ease into the 'signature' cadences. I have I think 2 signature cadences that I bring out the bag. 'When that left foot hits the ground....', 'Ahab had a camel named Clyde...'.

Not an official military cadence but in AIT we used to get fired up after a long day at class by marching to Twist and Shout.  Our platoon SGT would always comment on motivation every time he heard this.
